My journey to becoming natural started about 3 yrs ago. I had been having stomach issues that resulted in me going back and forth to the ER several times. On my next to last visit I was given a CT scan, and it was found that I had "gallstones". I was given instructions that I needed to start a high fiber diet which was to result in me passing the stones myself. Unfortunately that did not happen and I was back in the ER 2 days later. As a result of that, I was admitted on 2/14/13 (yes Valentines day) for emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder. It was a successful surgery and I was released 2 days later.
On 2/20/13 I was admitted again for complications that was later revealed in my results coming back as me having Colon Cancer. Along with having a Pulmonary embolism (for those that ask I had a blood clot of the right lung). I was in the hospital for 3 1/2 weeks for a number of things. I was put on meds for my PE, then I had to have a colonoscopy and was then taken for surgery to have 64 cm of my right colon removed. This was the scariest time of my life.
After I was discharged it was time for healing. I started chemotherapy and the hair shedding began. Yes, it was just shedding. But it was loss of hair any way you look at it. I shedded mostly in the middle of my head. That resulted in me having my hair cut extremely short. Along with that I was instructed not to put relaxers in my hair while doing chemotherapy. And that started on April 10, 2013.
